THE TEAM

Fermentation scientists who wrote the code.

We came from bioprocess labs, not software shops. The people who built Fermvyne have run the bioreactors, watched the DO drop, and written the incident reports that drove us to build this.

Catalina Bravo, Co-founder and CEO of Fermvyne

Catalina Bravo

Co-founder & CEO

Fermentation scientist with 9 years of aerobic fed-batch process development for recombinant proteins and precision fermentation ingredients. Former process development lead at a cell-ag startup in RTP. Ph.D. in Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering, NC State University. Catalina leads company strategy, customer development, and the science roadmap.

Marcus Okafor, Co-founder and CTO of Fermvyne

Marcus Okafor

Co-founder & CTO

Computational biologist specializing in genome-scale metabolic modeling and constraint-based analysis. Former postdoc in systems biology at Duke University. Built FBA models for industrial E. coli and yeast strains before turning that work into the Fermvyne prediction engine. Marcus leads the platform architecture and modeling methodology.

Jana Sobolewska, Lead Bioprocess Engineer at Fermvyne

Jana Sobolewska

Lead Bioprocess Engineer

Bioprocess engineer with deep expertise in oxygen transfer, kLa measurement, and impeller system design for aerobic fermentation. 7 years at fermentation CDMOs managing scale-up campaigns from 5L to 20,000L. Jana leads the kLa correlation library and the commercial-scale module. She designed the validation dataset methodology.
