CAREERS

Build the tool precision fermentation needs.

We're a small team in RTP that genuinely uses the software we build. If you care about making precision fermentation scale-up less unpredictable, we'd like to talk.

WHY FERMVYNE

What working here is actually like.

Science-first team

Fermentation scientists who run experiments are our customers and our co-authors. Every feature decision starts with a real bioprocess problem. If you're a scientist who can write code, or an engineer who wants to work on real biology, you'll fit in.

Early-stage, real product

We're early enough that you'll define how things are built, not maintain a code base you didn't design. We have real customers, real revenue, and a clear product — not a science project looking for a business model.

RTP biotech ecosystem

Research Triangle Park has a dense fermentation science community. CDMOs, alt-protein startups, and university collaborators are within driving distance. Working here means proximity to the domain you're building for.

OPEN ROLES

Current openings.

Fermentation Scientist — Validation & Application

Research Triangle Park, NC Full-time Science
Apply

We need a fermentation scientist who will validate Fermvyne's predictions against real experimental data, build the case studies we use to prove the model works, and translate customer feedback into product requirements. You'll be the scientific interface between our computational model and the bioreactor floor.

  • 4+ years of aerobic fed-batch fermentation experience (E. coli, yeast, or filamentous fungi)
  • Hands-on experience with kLa measurement and scale-up parameter development
  • Ability to read and interpret experimental data critically — not just report numbers
  • Experience with DCS platforms and data logging tools a strong plus

Software Engineer — Scientific Computing

Research Triangle Park, NC Full-time Engineering
Apply

We need an engineer who can make our simulation pipeline faster, more reliable, and easier to scale. You'll work on the core computation layer — the FBA solver integration, the data ingestion pipeline, and the job queue that connects customer uploads to protocol outputs.

  • 3+ years of Python development, ideally in scientific computing or bioinformatics
  • Familiarity with numerical optimization or linear programming (LP solvers)
  • Experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS or GCP) and container-based deployment
  • Background in biology or chemistry is valuable but not required — curiosity is

We hire for skill and domain fit, not to fill boxes. If you're a metabolic engineer, a bioprocess modeling expert, a science writer who knows fermentation, or a designer who can communicate technical content — and you want to help precision fermentation teams succeed at scale — tell us about yourself.

Apply by email.

Send your CV and a note about why you care about fermentation scale-up to [email protected]. We'll read it and respond personally.
